POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT
“DEVELOPMENT OF A FULLY ADAPTABLE KEYPAD PROTOTYPE FOR SOFTWARE AND VIDEO GAMES DESIGNED FOR PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS”
Nr. NAGS2-IES-2021/10
In March 2022, the project “Development of a fully adaptable keypad prototype for software and video games designed for people with special needs” was started. The project's objective is to develop a new, fully automated 3D prototype construction and online ordering platform. This platform will enable individuals with special needs to easily order new fully customizable controller prototypes for computer programs and video games. As part of this project, a specific environmental goal has been established - to reduce specific indicators affecting the environment as a result of the project.

Simultaneously with the development of the online platform for 3D prototype construction and order placement, there are plans to create and implement various improvements in the production and ordering processes, aiming to reduce not only the time for order placement and processing but also the entire cycle of the product production process.
As part of the project, there is a plan to reduce the development time of a single product to 20 hours, which will lead to a reduction in electricity consumption. In addition to reducing energy consumption in the production process and minimizing the environmental impact of our processes, there is a plan to decrease the rate of defective printed parts from 6% to 1%.
The company has initiated an experimental collaboration with a processing company in Germany. This trial partnership aims to assess the feasibility of establishing a successful cooperation that aligns with the company's requirements and specifications. Approximately 45 kilograms of defective PLA material parts were sent for processing. The establishment and successful consolidation of this cooperation will lead to a reduction in the number of defects that have a negative impact on the environment.

Nr. NAGS2-IES-2021/10
During the period from September 2022 to September 2023, experimental activities were conducted as part of the project's implementation. Potential modules that could be incorporated into the development of the new computer program and video game controller prototype were studied, as well as the next steps in the experimental development activity were identified, taking into account the recommendations and preferences of device users, while working on the development of an IT solution. These processes occur concurrently to enable the adaptation of the prototype to the customer's needs to the greatest extent possible, as well as to process it in an automated online ordering platform, successfully blending order processing and customer requirements with the company's production processes.
Based on market research, a contract was concluded with the service provider SIA "Routed In". Active work is in progress on the development of the IT solution, (automated 3D prototype construction and online ordering platform) - an analysis of the implementation of the existing platform has been conducted, along with an examination of the existing technical solutions. Furthermore, the foundational base code of the platform has been established. The platform is undergoing testing concurrently with its development to identify and address any gaps in the platform.
During the previous reporting period, there was active communication with experts and organizations that focus on assisting individuals with special needs, for example, the Latvian Umbrella Body for Disability Organizations (SUSTENTO) and the Social Integration State Agency to explore the possibility of organizing a substantial public event in the future, aimed at addressing and informing potential customers. Due to various circumstances, the event has not been implemented up to this point, but following extended communication efforts, representatives from the Social Integration State Agency and from the potential target group are scheduled to visit Azeron. During this event, information about the project, the current opportunities offered by our company, and its products will be presented, as well as the future vision in this regard will be shared.

In March 2022, the project “Development of a software and video game fully adaptable keypad for people with special needs” was started. The aim of the project is to create a new, fully automated 3D prototype construction and ordering online platform, which would allow people with special needs to order new fully customizable computer programs and video games controller prototype.
In the first half-year of the project's implementation – from March to September – generally experimental activities were carried out, i.e., the modules that could potentially be included in the development of the new computer program and video game controller prototype were studied. Also, the next steps in the experimental development activity were clearly identified, and solutions and variations in the compatibility of various modules by modifying the existing Azeron gadgets were found. The suggestions and requests of the device users were taken into account whilst developing the modules, for example, the addition of a touchpad, trackball, or potentiometer to the device.

“DEVELOPMENT OF A SOFTWARE AND VIDEO GAME FULLY ADAPTABLE KEYPAD FOR PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS”
Nr. NAGS2-IES-2021/10
Objective
of the project: to develop a new, fully automated prototype 3D construction
and ordering on-line platform (technology) on which people with special needs
could order a fully customizable and personified prototype of a new software
and video game controller (keypad). The ordering platform should be connected
with the existing and new production processes in order to ensure the possibility
to create fully custom-based controller (keypad) prototype.
Activities of the project:
- the development of new, fully automated prototype 3D construction and ordering on-line platform (technology) on which people with special needs could order a fully customizable and personified prototype of a new software and video game controller (keypad);
- establish a cooperation with a Latvian scientific institution (Rīga Stradiņš University Scientific Center “Kleisti”) and a Norwegian partner (KAIZEN INSTITUTE NORWAY) for transferring the necessary knowledge, receiving important recommendations for defining the platform's functionality and capabilities, as well as further technological process implementation.
